Title: Resolution No. 16-002 Adopting Fire Impact Fees Details: Currently Camas Municipal Code waives Fire Impact Fees on homes and duplexes that are constructed with fire sprinklers. Today, over 90% of the new homes and duplexes in Camas have mandatory installation of residential fire sprinklers complying with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Code 13D. The resolution would eliminate the waiver except for those homes and duplexes that are not required by NFPA Code 13D to install residential fire sprinklers but volunteer to do so. Homes and duplexes that are required to install fire sprinklers by NFPA Code 13D, will pay 80% of the fee, because state statute requires them to pay based on the percentage of total calls that are medical only, since fire sprinklers do reduce house fires. Approximately 80% of the City's calls are medical and 20% are fire related. Presenter: Jennifer Gorsuch, Administrative Services Director
